The Juniors had a great time on the Viking during their annual boat trip this year. All of the juniors had fish, mainly mackerel and the two best fish are shown above.
Thomas Lambourn is pictured with his NEW JUNIOR CLUB RECORD Brill that weighed 2-6-0. Sam Breeze is pictured with his Mackerel that weighed 1-7-0.
Sam won the Competition with his Mackerel and Liam Faisey came second with
another mackerel that weighed 1-2-8. Sam and Liam each received rods and the
Annual Trophy and Thomas's Record Medal will be presented at the
Annual Presentation in 2007.
BOAT CONGER TRIP 2005
The weather conditions for this years boat trip was fantastic and even I could have probably gone. All of the juniors that took part had fish and the best conger was caught by Sam Breeze, pictured left, with his fish that weighed 20-8-0. Sam will receive the Dougie Smith-Howell Trophy at the end of the year but also won one of the rods kindly donated by Mr Harry Knowles one of the MBAS Vice Presidents.
Kevin Griffiths caught the best of species other than conger and also won a rod donated by Harry Knowles with his pouting that weighed 1-11-8.
Special thanks must again go to the "Viking" skipper Nicky Morse for yet again giving the juniors a wonderful trip.
BOAT TRIP 2004
Unfortunately the strong North Westerly Wind and Heavy Swell made the trip very unpleasant for the 12 juniors that took part. Although some fish were being caught the poor sea conditions forced the skipper to take the decision to return to port early. Although quite a few fish were caught, none were over the club minimum sizes and therefore the competition was not won this Year.
BOAT TRIP 2003
This 2003 boat trip was enjoyed by ten of the juniors and although the fishing was a bit poor on the day some nice fish were caught. Tom Williams had by far the best fish on the day. This was a Lesser Spotted Dogfish that weighed 3-0-8 and was Tom's first Specimen fish and a NEW JUNIOR CLUBRECORD.
Tom will receive the Dougie Smith Howell Trophy at the end of the year.
Neal Hosking had an LSD of 2-6-8 and a pouting of 1-10-0.
