MEETINGS
The Juniors of the MBAS hold a Monthly Meeting, always held on the LAST MONDAY OF THE MONTH. These meetings are held in the SUB AQUA CLUB on the Albert Pier at Penzance.
A short Committee Meeting is held followed by either a demonstration/talk or a mini comp on the end of the pier.
The juniors have their own Committee and their current Officers are:

COMPETITIONS
Monthly competitions are held and this gives them the chance to try out new angling venues.
The competitions are supervised by myself and other seniors of the club and as the juniors
normally only fish the piers of
Penzance and Newlyn it gives them a chance to target different species of fish.
There are normally two prizes available to the juniors taking part in the Monthly
Competitions. These come in the form of Tackle Vouchers to the value of £5 and £10 which can be spent at Newtown Angling Centre.
All of the competitions are decided on a point system and the juniors are encouraged to return all fish alive. The only fish normally kept are those that need to be officially weighed on the club scales.
The ASH & LACY COMP is an annual Sponsored Event when the juniors raise money for the RNLI.
NEWSLETTERS
I produce a monthly newsletter for the juniors and this keeps them up to date on all of their news.
Competitions, Meetings, Trips and Puzzles are all covered and I am usually able to include photographs of them when they catch good specimens.
TRIPS
Several trips are made during the year and again this provides new experiences for the juniors.
In 1999 we made our first trip to the NATIONAL MARINE AQUARIUM and repeated the event in 2000, 2002 & 2004. On each
occasion the juniors really enjoyed themselves.
Annually we attend the TORBAY JUNIOR FESTIVAL at BRIXHAM. This is a two day trip and gives the juniors a chance to fish outside the County, competing against other juniors from all over the South West.
Our juniors do very well and normally all of them come back with something.
In 2000 we made our first trip to the WYVERN JUNIOR FESTIVAL.
This was held at TEIGNMOUTH and our juniors performed very well despite the terrible weather on the day.
This event was repeated in 2001, 2002 & 2003 and again the juniors did very well.
PUZZLES
A monthly puzzle comes with the newsletter and various prizes are awarded to the winners.
